JAMB Bulletin Summary – March 24, 2025: UTME Updates and Ethical Conduct

What is JAMB?

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is the Nigerian body responsible for administering the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for entry into tertiary institutions.

2025 UTME Timeline

  • Direct Entry (DE) Registration: Ongoing
  • Mock Examination Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025
  • UTME Examination Period: Friday, April 25, 2025, to Monday, May 5, 2025  

Registrar’s Visit to CUAB CBT Centre

  • JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, visited Crescent University CBT Centre, Abeokuta (CUAB).  
  • He commended the institution for providing the facility.  
  • He emphasized the need for the institution to monitor the CBT center staff to prevent misconduct such as charging excessive fees and tampering with candidate data.  

Olaopa’s Appointment and FCSC Partnership

  • JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Prof. Tunji Olaopa as Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).  
  • The Registrar acknowledged Olaopa’s diverse experience and capabilities.  
  • JAMB pledged to support the Commission by providing expertise in administering recruitment and promotion examinations using Computer-Based Tests (CBT).  
  • Prof Oloyede advised the FCSC Chairman to gradually digitize its recruitment process.  
  • The FCSC Chairman expressed his intention to leverage JAMB’s infrastructure for recruitment and promotion processes.  

JAMB Uyo’s Visit to Education Commissioner

  • The Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of JAMB, Mrs. Grace Olima-William, visited the new Commissioner of Education in Akwa Ibom State, Prof. Ubong Essien.  
  • The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between JAMB and the State Government and discuss advancing the State’s education sector.  
  • The Commissioner acknowledged JAMB’s achievements in Computer-Based Test (CBT) administration.  
  • The Commissioner requested that JAMB post candidates to centers within the State for security and cost-saving reasons and consider building more CBT Mega Centres.  
  • The Coordinator assured the Commissioner that his requests would be forwarded to the Registrar.  
  • The coordinator clarified that candidates are posted to examination towns they selected during registration.  

Adebiyi Charges Freshers on Good Behaviour

  • JAMB Gombe State Coordinator, Mr. Johnson Adebiyi, urged new students of the Federal University Kashere (FUK) to maintain good behavior.  
  • He also encouraged them to strive for academic excellence and adhere to ethical standards.  
  • The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Umaru Alhaji Pate, stated the institution’s zero-tolerance policy for social vices.
