Established by Decree No. 20 of 1992. A parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. Its mandate is to promote the welfare of Nigerian women and empower them in various aspects of life. While primarily focused on policy, advocacy, and women’s development programs, they may also offer vocational training and skills acquisition initiatives for women. Their focus is broader than just a traditional educational institution.
